Fringe artists to protest Woodside’s CBD headquarters ahead of AGM



A throng of activists and artists accompanied by an eight-metre long inflatable whale will gather to protest Woodside outside ahead of its annual AGM in Perth on Thursday.

The rally, organised by corporate activist group 350 Perth in conjunction with Fringe World festival performers, will kick off at 10am as Woodside board members prepare for the meeting.

Woodside has been a sponsor of Perth’s Fringe World since 2012.

Performer, writer, and activist Noemie Huttner-Koros plans to present a petition to the board calling on the company to drop its sponsorship of Fringe World, citing the destruction of Aboriginal cultural sites and impact of fossil fuel exploration on the environment as the main reasons.
