Some call her the “Ghost of the Bay”, but she’s formally known as the H.M.A.S. Swan. That’s right, the big shape you can see down below in this awesome perspective captured by @aussiearoundtheworld (via IG) is a 113 metre long shipwreck! In 1997 the destroyer escort was scuttled in 30 metres of water about 2.5kms out to sea from Meelup Beach.

Ocean loving folks visit the region to scuba or free dive the wreck with companies like Swan Dive Dunsborough & Busselton who make the trip out to the site every Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Considering the warm local sea temperature at the moment thanks to the Leeuwin Current this is the ideal activity for that weekend break. 🤿
